Strip club advertising?
Yup, from January 2010 through February 2013, I had the unique opportunity to create event posters and advertising pieces for a company that operated gentleman’s clubs across the United States of America. Their clubs were quite literally from coast to coast and points in between. With almost 20 locations across the country, the variety of events seemed never ending. Some, were even more not safe for work (NSFW) than this handful I’ve selected to display. Each event was a campaign and each campaign had several points of contact with location patrons.
Posters, Flyers, and more, Oh my!
As part of the team creating the pieces for each club, I often got to see each project through from initial creation of the event poster through to the final creation and implementation of print advertising, plus each point in between. A usual campaign had the following pieces in it:
- Poster (24in x 36in)
- Backlit poster (not available at all locations)
- Flyers (4in x 6in, 3in x 4in)
- Social Media Advertising
- Facebook Timeline Cover Photo
- Facebook Timeline Profile Photo
- Generic Social Media image used across multiple platforms
- Table Tents (Not available at all locations)
- Web Banner (Used with print media advertising plans)
- Newspaper/Magazine ads
- Black & white
- Digital Signage images
- T-Shirt Designs
- Special Event Invitations
Sometimes the same event would happen across multiple locations or in different areas of the country. Often times, the events became recurring annual events, and with those, some of my designs are still being used to this day. In addition to the print advertising that was done for each event, I was also in charge of setting up Social Media Advertising for each club & event. That included uploading and setting Facebook timeline images, uploading generic social media event image to photo sharing sites, writing posts for the duration of the events and scheduling the posts to go out throughout the campaign. Some special events required the creation of invitations and even t-shirts.
